As part of the STREAM IT project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon WIDERA programme, the Institute Mihajlo Pupin successfully organised four thematic webinars during the spring and early summer of 2025. These webinars were organized within the framework of the National Inspiration Hub in Serbia – a dedicated online space aimed at motivating, informing, and engaging girls and women in STE(A)M fields, through interactive content, inspirational stories, and hands-on resources. All realised webinars brought together relevant speakers from various sectors – science, education, civil society, and the arts – to inspire young people, especially girls, to pursue their talents regardless of the obstacles. Below is a summary of each session:
Webinar 1: The STRE(A)M IT Project and Girls in ICT Day - 11 April 2025
The first webinar launched the series of webinars by fostering dialogue on gender equality in information and communication technologies (ICT). Speakers Sanja Popovic-Pantic and Adrijana Pantic from the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, together with representatives of the Association of Business Women in Serbia – Dragana Panajotovic and Ivana Petrovic, discussed the challenges, opportunities, and the role of girls in the digital society.
This session highlighted the importance of supporting girls in entering the ICT sector, not only for labour market reasons, but also for social justice and innovation stemming from diverse perspectives.

In an inspiring dialogue, Marija Brankovic (Goethe-Institut) and Marija Radovanovic (GIZ) addressed the role of societal expectations and gender stereotypes, which often hinder girls from engaging in science.
The speakers shared personal experiences and good practices, particularly related to working with youth in rural areas, and discussed concrete strategies for increasing the participation of girls in STE(A)M fields. This webinar served as a powerful reminder that science is not reserved for one gender – it is for all curious minds.

Building an Inspiring Future Together
Through the implementation of these webinars, the National Inspiration Hub in Serbia has become a space for idea exchange, motivation, and support – aimed not only at young people but also at everyone striving to promote equal opportunities in education and career development.
Through the STRE(A)M IT project, the Institute Mihajlo Pupin continues to provide concrete tools and resources to empower girls and women, enabling them, regardless of the obstacles, to pursue their talents and shape a future of their own. Building on this momentum, two more inspiring webinars will be held by the end of the year, continuing to strengthen knowledge and actively promote equal access to STE(A)M education for all.
